Tokyo Engagement Photography: Dyanna & Miki

Dyanna and Miki were so much fun to work with. From the moment we met up at Meiji Jingu Shrine, as the sun was starting to sink low in the sky, I felt so at ease with their relaxed and happy attitudes. During the photoshoot, I was able to catch a genuine glimpse of the way these two care for each other, and I could tell that their road together from now can only grow better and happier. Their bright smiles completely made my afternoon. Dyanna and Miki, thank you so much for letting me capture a piece of your memories here in Tokyo! I'm so grateful to have met you both. :)

Tokyo Fashion Photography: Mariko & Kimono Dress

The other day, I did a quick photoshoot with the lovely Mariko, an entrepreneur and fashion & beauty blogger. I was introduced to Mariko through a friend, and after meeting up for a talk over tea in Omotesando, I felt extremely impressed by her achievements and passion for her work. Mariko is CEO of her own company, where the concept is empowering women to live freely, express themselves and reach their full potentials. She is also part of the Association for Preservation and Inheritance of Japanese Traditional Culture, where she produces kimono dresses. In this shoot, she modeled one of the kimono dresses in a lush green Japanese garden backdrop.
I'm so happy to have the chance to work with a beautiful and strong woman like Mariko, whose meaningful work focuses on making a difference in the lives of women, as well as bringing light upon the traditional cultures and artwork of Japan. I'm really looking forward to working with her more!

Please check out Mariko's fashion blog, 25ans blog, and Twitter for more updates about her work!

Beach Photoshoot: Kaliah at Sunset

I'm very happy to present one of my favorite recent photoshoots, taken on the beach as the sun was setting. Luckily, the area we went was nearly empty of people; there was a slight chill to the wind, but otherwise everything was perfect. It's been a while since I met up with Kaliah, whose modeling talents and styling choices really made this a magical shoot. I love the ocean so much. Now that it's summer, I can't wait to go back as many times as possible, exploring other beaches around the Tokyo area. Kaliah, thank you so much for creating these beautiful photographs together!

Please check out Kaliah's Facebook and Blog! She also recently appeared in a music video - gorgeous!!

Tokyo Fashion Photography: Kuro

It was so much fun meeting up and shooting with Kuro! A fashion model and aspiring actor/talent in Tokyo, Kuro moved here from Mie Prefecture and is now working at an apparel store while pursuing his dream. His modeling style is so natural and confident, it's hard to believe he only started modeling work about four months ago. Not only is he talented as a model and has a cool sense of style, but he's very positive and easy to talk to as a person. He said that he really believes in doing what makes yourself happy and enjoying everyday life. With that attitude, I am sure he will go far and reach his goals. Thank you, Kuro!

Please check out Kuro's Instagram, Twitter, and WEAR page!

Being out in the middle of nature never fails to fill me with a floaty sense of contentment. And by floaty, I mean that I want to dance among the flowers and sink down in the fresh-smelling grass - which is pretty much what I ended up doing! This is one of the most beautiful places I've visited lately, and it made me happy to know that little pockets of peace and wilderness do exist within a reasonable train ride's distance from the center of Tokyo. I want to go more places, see other parts of Japan that are filled with such blooming, untouched wildlife.

Beautiful and Green

These days, everything is beautiful and green. The air is filled with the gentle scent of oncoming summer. Thank goodness for nature, for wildflowers dotting the grass, for trees. I'm also spotting more wild cats in parks and near shrines.
I'm thankful for all the beauty and wonder there is around me, and thankful to be able to capture some of it to keep.
