My First Months in Japan

This post should otherwise be known as "It's Not About the Gear: Part 2", but I thought the above blog title better represented this set :)

In the first part of this series, I shared some of the photos I took in the past with the Canon Powershot SD450. Some years later, I exchanged it for the Canon Powershot SD1100 IS, which is the camera I brought with me when I first landed in Tokyo. The images you'll see below were taken with the SD1100 IS, in the first few months of my residence in Tokyo back in fall-winter 2006. Man, do they bring back memories...!

One of my first views of Shibuya.
Living in a tiny hotel room the first week while getting job training/teaching actual jobs, I didn't really know what to eat... almost cried of happiness when I had this mushroom soba, (one of my first proper hot meals here) it was so good.
My first cell phone in Japan. Although I use an iPhone now, I loved this old phone!! So many memories..
One of my first takoyaki experiences!
Aaand one of my first taiyaki experiences!
First time in Kyoto!
Fall colors :)
Started becoming obsessed with natto! Yum yum :)
The rush of Shibuya station's big intersection.
